The New Orleans Saints made their NFL debut on September 17, 1967, opening their inaugural season against the Los Angeles Rams.

Tom Dempsey – Saints Kicker in 1969 Rookie kicker Tom Dempsey kicks one of his four field goals against the New York Giants in 1969. In a back-and-forth contest that saw the lead change hands seven times, Dempsey’s kick with seven seconds remaining gave New Orleans one of its most exciting wins of the season.
