Saints Fullback Buford Jordan in 1988
One of the unsung heroes of those New Orleans Saints teams of the 1980s that finally began to win some games was fullback Buford Jordan, a former McNeese and USFL star that joined the team in 1986. He was never in the spotlight but remained a solid and consistent player for 7 years with the Saints. Here he carries against the Los Angeles Rams in 1988 at Anaheim Stadium. The game was a huge 14-10 upset of the Rams that finally showed the rest of the NFL that the Saints were contenders. Blocking for him in the foreground is center Steve Korte.
