I've been following the Saints since a kid in the 70s watching the likes of Archie Manning and Tommy Myers.
We may not have as grandiose a history as some NFL teams, but there are scores of memories the New Orleans Saints have given to their fans and I have done my best to record them here at New Orleans Saints History.

Dave Whitsell – Saints defensive back wore number 23.
The Saints acquired him in the 1967 expansion draft from the Chicago Bears.
In 1967, Dave had 10 interceptions for the 14 game season.
No other player in Saints history has had more in 14 games.
The next year, he was cut from the team!
Cutting Dave was one of the many blunders the organization made.
Only after Tom Benson took over the Saints, did they have a great team. They did have great talent in the past, just not enough.
